Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The file C:\\Users\\&lt;username&gt;\\AppData\\Local\\Microsoft\\Outlook\\user@doamin.com.ost is not an Outlook data file (ost).<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Outlook displays one of the following message in the status bar:\n<div class=\"message\">Trying to connect&#8230;<\/div>\n<div class=\"message\">Disconnected<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ng-scope\">\n<div class=\"ng-isolate-scope\">\n<section class=\"section ng-scope\" data-grid=\"col-12\">\n<div class=\"ng-scope\">\n<h2 class=\"c-heading-4 f-lean bold ng-binding\">Cause<\/h2>\n<hr class=\"c-divider f-pad-bottom-6x f-pad-top-3x\" \/>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-body ng-scope\">\n<div class=\"ng-scope\" data-grid=\"col-12\">\n<div class=\"ng-isolate-scope\" data-grid=\"col-12\">\n<div class=\"kb-cause-section section ng-scope\">This issue occurs if there is a trailing space (that is, if a space is the last character) in the <span class=\"text-base\">legacyExchangeDN <\/span>attribute.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ng-scope\">\n<div class=\"ng-isolate-scope\">\n<section class=\"section ng-scope\" data-grid=\"col-12\">\n<div class=\"ng-scope\">\n<h2 class=\"c-heading-4 f-lean bold ng-binding\">Resolution<\/h2>\n<hr class=\"c-divider f-pad-bottom-6x f-pad-top-3x\" \/>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-body ng-scope\">\n<div class=\"ng-scope\" data-grid=\"col-12\">\n<div class=\"ng-isolate-scope\" data-grid=\"col-12\">\n<div class=\"kb-resolution-section section ng-scope\">\n<p>To resolve this issue, remove the trailing space from the <span class=\"text-base\">legacyExchangeDN<\/span> attribute by using ADSIEdit.msc. To do this, follow these steps.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text-base\">Important<\/span> After you make this change in the <span class=\"text-base\">legacyExchangeDN<\/span> attribute, recipients who previously received an email message from this user will receive a non-delivery report (NDR) message if they try to reply to an email message that they received from this user before the change was made. This problem will not occur for replies to new email messages that the user sends after the change was made.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"sbody-num_list\">\n<li>Open the <strong class=\"uiterm\">Run<\/strong> dialog box. To do this, use one of the following methods, as appropriate for your situation:\n<ul class=\"sbody-free_list\">\n<li><span class=\"text-base\">Windows 10, Windows 8.1 or Windows 8:<\/span> Press the Windows key + R.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"text-base\">Windows 7 or Windows Vista:<\/span> Click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Start<\/strong>, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Run<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Type <span class=\"sbody-userinput\">ADSIEdit.msc<\/span>, and then press Enter.<\/li>\n<li>Expand the <strong class=\"uiterm\">Default naming<\/strong> context to <strong class=\"uiterm\">CN=Users<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the user account whose mailbox is prompting the error.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click this account, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Properties<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Locate the <span class=\"text-base\">legacyExchangeDN <\/span>attribute, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Edit<\/strong>.<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"graphic\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/support.microsoft.com\/Library\/Images\/3069007.jpg?w=640&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Remove the trailing space at the end of the username.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong class=\"uiterm\">OK<\/strong>, click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Apply<\/strong>, and then exit ADSIEdit.msc.<\/li>\n<li>Have the user exit and then restart Outlook.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/help\/3068991\/outlook-displays-disconnected-in-the-status-bar-if-the-last-character\">Microsoft<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Applies to: Outlook 2016Outlook 2013 Symptoms In Microsoft Outlook 2016 or Outlook 2013, you experience one or several of the following symptoms: You receive the following error message: The Microsoft Exchange Administrator has made a change that requires you quit and restart Outlook.
